Transparent jewelry with colorful accents, - the combination of photopolymer 3D printing with 2.5D spatial texture

"Transparent effect only for glass, plexiglass, or epoxy resin? This is Deckard Design's answer."
Deckard Design - a manufacturer of innovative decorations, gadgets, and jewelry supplies, uses many different creative techniques to make its products unique. By combining full-color, spatial texture, and photopolymer 3D printing technology, Deckard’s team creates unusual applications with the effect of transparency.
Traditional materials vs. transparency effect
Typically, to create full-color transparent products, it is customary to use glass, plexiglass, or epoxy resin. Unfortunately, each of these materials has its limitations or disadvantages. Glass is the noblest material of the three, but it is also the most fragile. Breakable and delicate, it requires very careful handling. Moreover, its processing is laborious and difficult, and the dying of the glass is quite problematic. Transparent plexiglass is more durable, however, it can only be cut at a right angle - attempts to chamfer its edges or round its surface result in loss of transparency and de facto degradation of the original material. Additionally, printing on Plexiglass is not durable, no matter what technique we would like to use. As far as epoxy resins are concerned, it is necessary to create a casting mold first, which makes the production process longer and more expensive. In order to make the finished piece transparent (or at least translucent), a lot of work must be put into its final post-processing.
An innovative solution by Deckard Design
Deckard Design has taken a different path, reaching out to modern 3D printing technologies using transparent light-cured resins. 3D printers allow the creation of spatial forms without any loss of quality, so any kind of surface rounding or complicated shapes, impossible to obtain in glass or plexiglass, is easily done without additional processes. The effect of transparency is obtained in a natural way. Unlike glass, the resin used for 3D printing is durable to mechanical damages and external conditions.

Another advantage of using 3D printing is the ability to create moving parts that do not require additional joining - everything is made during a single manufacturing process. Transparent elements made of clear resin can be dyed in any color and covered with 2,5D tactile texture. The application possibilities are unlimited and the final effect is impossible to reproduce using any other manufacturing technique.
Printed products are very light, which is particularly important in the production of jewelry or other wearable decorations. A person wearing this type of adornment will neither feel any discomfort nor do they have to be afraid of accidental damages, as happens in the case of glass products. At the same time, by combining the transparency of resins from a 3D printer with 2.5D texture, it is possible to imitate various natural materials, such as amber.
Deckard Design has endless design possibilities - bringing even the most unusual concepts to life, creating products of every shape, color, and visual effect. If you want to turn your own idea into life, Deckard Design is waiting for you!
